Red Sox Foundation Honors Boston Visionary Jord Poster for Raising over $774,000 for Foundation through Tickets-for-Charity®Program

Tickets-for-Charity Offers Sports & Music Fans Access to High-Demand Seats While Benefiting Today’s Most Urgent Social Causes

Boston, MA – October 5, 2009 – Tickets-for-Charity® Founder, Jord Poster, was recently honored at Fenway Park as the Red Sox Foundation’s Partner of the Year. One of the founding members of Priceline, Poster created the groundbreaking Tickets-for-Charity platform to increase critically-needed funds for some of the nation’s leading charities by offering music and sports fans access to high-demand seats – for typically the same or better price than they find elsewhere – while benefiting important causes. Through Poster’s visionary leadership, Tickets-for-Charity has raised over $774,000 for the Red Sox Foundation and helped significantly expand access to the Foundation’s cornerstone social service programs, including Red Sox Scholars and RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) youth baseball program.

Tickets-for-Charity offers Red Sox fans access to hard-to-find seats for all home games at typically the same or better price than they find elsewhere, while benefiting the Red Sox Foundation. Poster first started working with the Foundation when he offered Boston music fans the chance to support the Red Sox Foundation by accessing high-demand seats through Tickets-for-Charity to see the Rolling Stones concert at Fenway Park. The unique fundraising collaboration continued in 2006 when the Red Sox made a special allotment of seats available to support the Foundation’s programs serving at risk children in the first Charitable Sale™ program with Tickets-for-Charity. With overwhelming inaugural success, Tickets-for-Charity has expanded with the Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins and numerous top performing artists from Billy Joel & Elton John and Kenny Chesney to Usher and Pearl Jam.

“Jord Poster is a true visionary in seeking new models of social benefit, and through the Tickets-for-Charity platform, he has provided a tangible, meaningful way for us to increase awareness and support for the work we do with children struggling on the margins of our community,” said Meg Vaillancourt, Executive Director of the Red Sox Foundation.

“Year over year, the Red Sox Foundation has demonstrated unrivaled passion and dedication for improving the lives of so many children,” said Poster. “It is a true honor to be working with an organization that has had such a profound impact here in Boston – and certainly humbling to receive this award.”

As baseball season winds down, Tickets-for-Charity offers fans the chance to benefit the Red Sox Foundation and other leading charities by accessing great seats on www.ticketsforcharity.com to see some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports, from John Mayer, James Taylor and Jimmy Buffett to Robin Williams, Dane Cook, Red Sox playoff games and select upcoming Boston Celtics and Bruins home games.
